The ICSB-SI offers an environment where your aspiring dancer can work hard, meet challenges head-on, pursue goals and develop strength, flexibility, musicality and precise classical technique in a positive, inspiring environment! In short, your dancer can pursue his/her ballet dreams with confidence and enthusiasm while achieving a true sense of freedom in their technique.
An award-winning classical ballet training program, ICSB offers premiere training in a unique program that is specially designed for students ages 11 & Up who possess a desire to move forward to the next level of their training this summer in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The reduced student-to-teacher ratio presents an ideal environment where students are given personalized attention approximately 7 hours daily, Monday through Friday for five weeks (number of weeks is optional).
The Summer Intensive will be divided into 2 levels (Intermediate & Advanced) and will conclude with a presentation for parents of coached Repertoire as well as classwork. Students will leave the ICSB-SI with an in-depth understanding of ballet as a visual, auditory and somatic form of art essential in reconnecting people to the pleasure of moving. $3,000 for 5-week program (June 19 - July 21)
$1,200 for First 2-weeks (June 19 - 30)
$1,800 for Second 3-weeks (July 3 - July 21)
A non-refundable deposit of $650 goes towards the total cost of the program to secure placement in the program.
HOW TO AUDITION
Admittance into the ICSB-SI is by audition only. Prospective students may apply for admission into the program by submitting a video audition. Prior to submitting the video audition, all applicants are required to complete the Pre-Registration Form below.
In order to complete the Summer Intensive Registration E-Form below, students will need to upload:
• An Audition Video link (Unlisted/public videos if uploading to YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) via E-Form
• A Headshot with Ballet Hairstyle via separate email
• First Arabesque & Tendu a la Seconde Photo via separate email
Video submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes in length. Video auditions should reflect the dancer’s strengths and the dancer's CURRENT training level. It must be filmed within 3 months of the online audition registration date.
Please allow 2 weeks from the day your video audition is received for ICSB Staff to notify you of your audition result. We ask that you contact us ONLY if it has been more than 14 days since we received your video audition and you have NOT received your audition result. Video auditions will be accepted until programs are filled.
Girls – plain leotard, tights, soft ballet shoes and/or pointe shoes
Boys – fitted white t-shirt or leotard, black tights, white socks, ballet shoes
At the beginning of the video, you should introduce yourself by stating your name, current age, the number of year(s) of ballet/dance study, the number of years of pointe work (if applicable), the name(s) of your current school and teacher(s). Due to the nature of video auditions and dancers being filmed at various distances, please also indicate your height when sending your submission.
The audition submission should begin with a short technical demonstration at the barre and center. The exercises can be short, but with enough repetition that the dancer can be seen clearly. Please position the camera in front of the applicant; left and right sides of all exercises must be shown. It is encouraged to include one classical variation, (on pointe for women) one to two minutes in length.
I. At the barre:
– Tendu & Dégagé
– Fondu & Développé (front, side, back)
– Grand Battements
II. In the center:
– Adagio combination
– Pirouettes (en dehors, en dedans)
– Two combinations using assemblé, jeté, sissonne, and glissade
III. Diagonal across the floor:
– Grand jeté and tour jeté
IV. For Girls (en pointe):
– Echappé combination with passé
– Pirouette combination
V. For Boys:
– Single or double tour en l’air
– Grand pirouettes à la seconde
– Jump combination with échappés, assemblés and jetés and sissonnes (with beats, if possible)
FOR BEST RESULTS, DO NOT:
- Digitally alter or enhance how you look.
- Make your video audition too long.
- Include a whole ballet or parts of a work in which you’re not present.
- Include a poor quality video excerpt.
