The International City School of Ballet Presents

A Synchronicity Motion Pictures Film

In Rare Form (2021)

As theaters and companies worldwide cancel their seasons and performances, the pandemic has tested the will and motivation of ballet students like no other year before it. In Rare Form is a story of how ICSB students kept themselves and each other focused on the future amidst the uncertainty. This documentary is the story of dancing through a pandemic, about the desire to perform more passionately than ever. It made the students realize how valuable each performance became and that the future meant that performances would continue to be rare. Every school approached the pandemic differently, and this film shows how ICSB students overcame obstacles that made each student reflect and reevaluate their "why" behind why they dance.
