Summer Intensive 2026

June 15 – July 2, 2026 • Ages 11–20+

The ICSB Summer Intensive offers dancers a concentrated period of study rooted in the discipline, clarity, and depth of training that define our year-round program. ICSB is a deliberately small classical school built on precision, honesty, accountability, and serious long-term development — and this intensive reflects those values. Students are expected to work with urgency, take responsibility for their training, and approach each class with intention and focus.

Our faculty and Artistic Directors teach with a direct, individualized approach. Corrections are specific, hands-on, and continuous. Dancers learn not only what to fix, but how and why — building strong foundations, efficient coordination, and true technical understanding. This intensive is designed for students who are ready to train at a high standard, accept honest feedback, and demonstrate visible growth within a short time frame.

Program Structure

Across two and a half weeks, dancers train in an environment that prioritizes depth, consistency, and professional habits. Class sizes are intentionally limited to preserve the pace and integrity of instruction. The focus is not on volume, but on the quality of work being done in the room.

The curriculum includes:

  • Classical Ballet Technique

  • Pointe / Men’s Work

  • Variations

  • Contemporary for Classical Dancers

  • Conditioning and Placement

  • Daily individualized coaching and correction

Students are expected to arrive prepared, work with concentration, and commit fully to the standards of the class. ICSB emphasizes deliberate pacing, strong fundamentals, readiness-based progress, and the internal sense of urgency required of professional training.

EXTENDED SUMMER TRAINING

ICSB operates as a full year-round program, with training continuing throughout the summer.
Visiting dancers may apply to extend their study beyond July 2. Because the year-round curriculum is paced intentionally, extended placements are evaluated individually to ensure alignment with the level, focus, and expectations of the established classes. We strongly recommend that students interested in being considered for the Year-Round program attend our summer sessions at ICSB. The summer sessions can accurately assess a student’s fit for the Year-Round program and ultimately be considered an integral part of the faculty’s evaluation. Invitations to the Academic Year program are on an individual basis.

WHAT MAKES ICSB DIFFERENT

ICSB is not a large or commercial summer program.
We do not aim to fill studios or cycle dancers through generalized classes.
Our work is grounded in truthful coaching, meticulous attention to detail, and the expectation that dancers take ownership of their growth. Students who thrive in this environment are those who value consistency, discipline, and the long-term process of becoming stronger, smarter, and more accountable artists.

This intensive offers dancers a clear window into the training approach that has guided ICSB students toward success in professional schools and companies across the United States and Europe.

AUDITION Process

Admission to the ICSB Summer Intensive is by video evaluation only.

All applicants must complete the Summer Intensive Application E-Form and submit a video link that accurately represents their current technical level. A classical variation performance or rehearsal footage is required. Additional class footage may be submitted if desired.

Video submissions must clearly demonstrate placement, coordination, control, and overall technical readiness. Please ensure that your video privacy settings allow our faculty to view the link (Public or Unlisted settings are acceptable).

Applications will not be reviewed without a video submission.

Selected dancers will receive an official acceptance letter via the primary email address listed in the application form. The acceptance letter will include enrollment instructions, tuition information, and payment deadlines.

Accepted students must confirm attendance within two weeks of notification. Enrollment is finalized upon receipt of the required documentation and tuition deposit.
